About the Role As a Manufacturing Operations Director, you will serve as the primary leader responsible for bridging high-level strategic goals with daily production floor execution. You will drive operational excellence by fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing departments. Responsibilities Direct overall plant performance, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost-efficiency. Translate organizational strategy into actionable daily rhythms and KPI-driven objectives for the production team. Mentor and develop functional leaders to build a high-performing, resilient management bench. Optimize production flow and resource allocation to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure consistent output. Champion Lean Manufacturing methodologies to standardize processes and improve scalability. Maintain a consistent, visible presence on the production floor to engage with staff and resolve operational disruptions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and supply chain, to meet customer requirements. Qualifications Required Skills 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. Proven track record of managing through other leaders rather than direct floor supervision. Deep understanding of machining, assembly, and complex production workflows. Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks. Proficiency in ERP systems and data-driven performance analysis. Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience overseeing maintenance, shipping, and tool room support functions. Strong background in AS9100 or similar quality management systems. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced settings.
