Position Overview GTI Energy is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor – Welding to lead welding operations on the production floor. The Manufacturing Supervisor will oversee welders, robotic welding operations, and fabrication activities in a contract manufacturing environment. This Manufacturing Supervisor role is responsible for driving throughput, quality, safety, and on-time delivery while ensuring welding processes meet specifications and ISO9001 standards. Key Responsibilities Production Supervision & Welding Operations Lead daily welding operations as a Manufacturing Supervisor across manual and robotic welding processes Supervise welders performing MIG, TIG, FCAW, and structural welding in an industrial manufacturing environment Ensure welding execution aligns with production schedules, on-time delivery, and on-time release KPIs Manage fabrication flow and welding throughput in a contract manufacturing environment Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement programs Apply Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and Fishbone methodologies to welding defects and production issues Improve weld efficiency, cycle time, and throughput performance Identify process improvements across welding operations and robotic welding cells Quality, Safety & KPI Ownership Ensure welding quality meets AWS standards, internal specifications, and ISO9001 requirements Monitor KPIs including throughput, defect rates, rework, on-time delivery, and safety performance Enforce welding safety standards including PPE, ventilation, and equipment use Maintain in-process inspections and weld quality verification Cross-Functional Execution Partner with Engineering to resolve weld design, fit-up, and fabrication issues Work with Quality and Supply Chain to ensure material readiness and weld quality compliance Support training and development of welders and fabrication teams Required Qualifications 3–7 years of experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Supervisor, or Welding Supervisor Experience in contract manufacturing or industrial manufacturing environments Strong knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and structural welding Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Root Cause Analysis Ability to read welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and BOM structures Preferred Qualifications Background in fabrication, mechanical, or industrial engineering environments Experience with welding robots and automated welding systems Certified welder (AWS or equivalent) Experience with Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and structured problem solving
