Title: Marketing Operations Manager (Billing) Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6 Months Schedule: Hybrid (3 days/week) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Marketing Operations Manager to join the Performance Marketing Spend Ops team. This role is central to managing client’s global finance and billing operations for Performance Marketing, while providing critical operational support to the broader Global Marketing organization. You will be responsible for owning and optimizing the cross-functional processes that safeguard our financial health, with a primary focus on vendor management, streamlined budgeting, and maintaining a healthy payment pipeline. As a strategic advisor, you will partner with marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to navigate the complexities of marketing billing operations and interface directly with external vendors on client’s behalf. You will serve as the essential link between our complex digital marketing ecosystem and client’s financial policies, ensuring a seamless end-to-end lifecycle for our global campaigns and operational commitments. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented operator who can bridge the gap between technical marketing platforms and corporate finance. Beyond billing, you will also help govern and maintain access to our digital marketing vendor platforms, ensuring our ecosystem remains secure, efficient, and compliant. What You’ll Do: Support BAU Invoice Operations: Oversee the global monthly payment pipeline for a core portfolio of digital marketing vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely processing of 300+ monthly invoices, representing multi-million dollars in performance and brand marketing spend. Operational Automation: Proactively identify and execute opportunities to automate routine, manual billing tasks. You will leverage internal tools and process improvements to drive business efficiency and reduce operational friction. Strategic Vendor Management: Own the operational relationships with billing and finance contacts across our digital marketing vendor ecosystem. You will represent client’s interests, ensuring strong working partnerships and maintaining a transparent, timely communication loop. Platform Access Governance: Lead the management and oversight of user access for core digital marketing platforms. You will field new access requests and conduct regular audits to ensure global teams maintain the appropriate permission levels and security standards. Ad Account Hygiene: Develop an intimate understanding of our global ad account structures to advise on operational improvements. You will be responsible for maintaining account hygiene and implementing best practices for organizational scalability. Process Documentation & SSOT: Lead the creation and maintenance of a centralized "Single Source of Truth" (SSOT) hub for all SpendOps processes. By developing comprehensive documentation and a stakeholder-facing knowledge base, you will streamline cross-functional support and improve turnaround times (TAT) for ad-hoc inquiries. Qualifications: 5+ Years of Marketing Operations experience, with a specific focus on performance marketing budget management, billing, and financial operations. Proven experience managing a constant, high volume of time-sensitive operational tasks. You are able to quickly assess the priority of various issues based on contextual factors and make accurate output assessments in real time. Ability to use strategic problem solving to troubleshoot complex technical or financial issues while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture. You know when to pivot strategies and how to make effective trade-offs to meet business goals. Highly organized with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage deliverables in a fast-paced and complex environment. Direct experience overseeing large-scale performance marketing budgets with a demonstrated track record of accuracy and fiscal accountability. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to educate cross-functional stakeholders on complex processes and de-escalate sensitive financial situations through clear, thoughtful dialogue. Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of Google Suite and Excel for data management and reporting.
