Highland Plastics runs a 5-day, 24-hour operation and is recruiting for our night shift, Midnight - 8:00 a.m. This is a full-time position. We primarily make sheets and rolls of material for the customers in the automotive industry, who then form it into car parts. HPI has been around for 30 years and has plans to grow significantly. This position will start at $18.50/hr plus $1.00 in shift premium. You also receive entitlement to comprehensive benefits worth approximately $5/hr in addition to your base pay. As well as excellent health benefits we also provide fully-funded short and long term disability insurance as well as $50k life insurance. You will be trained to safely and accurately transfer raw and finished good materials to and from the warehouse and production floor. This role will require the use of a handheld electronic RF scanner and most of your time will be spent on a forklift. As a Material Handler you will be trained to: Drive a forklift safely. Read and interpret material staging reports Safely handle, shelf and stack pallets, crates and gaylords of raw and finished good material. Use a RF scanner to properly locate and transfer materials within our ERP system. Audit and count inventory. Package finished goods for shipment to our customers. Granulate scrap material on the small production granulators. Build pallets to size according to material and customer requirements. This role requires working solo, as there is only 1 Material handler per shift. Essential skills and experience This is a great job if you have experience and/or comfortability driving a forklift. Reliable attendance, and a strong work ethic are essential. Attention to detail and consistency are also crucial in this role. You must be able to follow a set order of operations, so material is accurately transferred and staged both physically and systematically to avoid inventory discrepancies and production interruptions.
