As a Materials and Processes Engineer you will be engaged with work on a broad range of projects in both a laboratory and manufacturing environment that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. Working side by side with designers, and test and manufacturing engineers, you’ll use your education and experience to develop and evaluate new and innovative technology that can survive in the most hostile of environments. In this role you will: Select Materials, and Processes (M & P) on new designs, get hands-on manufacturing experience, and/or provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes; prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks; prepare specifications; and evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement We're looking for: A self-starter who develops solutions to technical issues A motivated individual who's able to work closely within a geographically diverse team to resolve technical issues Someone with the ability to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects and timeline pressure to meet deadlines Someone comfortable with communicating in a variety of forums The ability to work with management and program representatives at several levels You can learn more about Denver, CO by visiting this link. Basic Qualifications: Experience with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including non-metals/organics, composites, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, material accelerated aging, and manufacturing operations Experience with Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition Materials or process related experience and/or field of study Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in Materials or Processes for development, improvement, design, application and production Eligibility/willingness to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required Desired Skills: Experience with general aerospace materials and processes Experience with technical requirements, including material and process specifications, program requirements, plans, and other relevant documentation. Understanding of material properties definitions Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering B.S.
