Job Description
Department:Central Supply Shift:Day Working Hours:Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM (8hr.) Summary:The Materials Handler III is responsible for management of procedural medical and surgical supplies in designated procedural hospital department par locations.These products are accurately and efficiently processed to satisfactorily meet the customer's needs in a safe manner.Key responsibilities are: Effectively use Wavemark, ParEx, Tissue Tracking, MSCM, INFOR systems technology for Automated order entry, Stocking, Picking, Receiving, and Delivering Procedural Par Locations products they manage. Proactively monitor and identify potential problems in the assigned Par locations. Serves as the department's Supply Chain Customer Service representative. Designing, establishing, and managing assigned PAR locations as well as Wavemark and CIMS; scanning lot/serial data and assisting with audits, locating missing items and monitors/ adjusts owned and consigned product par levels and reorder information. Maintaining constant and effective communication with assigned units to understand supply needs based on current and future patient population, procedure, physician changes. Providing and/or assisting with the training of coworkers and volunteers. Demonstrates a positive attitude and promotes good team work at all times. Supports and participates in efforts to successfully implement supply chain changes to improve processes and reduce costs. Knows and follows all Baptist Health and government policies and regulations. Is cross trained on all departmental duties, providing needed back up coverage for Materials Handler I or Materials Handler II as needed. This position may also be assigned special projects and given updated assignments.Other information:1.Education:High school diploma or GED is required.Requires at least 3 years of supply chain experience or 5 years of relevant health care experience.College coursework will be considered in lieu of experience Candidate must be willing to attend needed education and training required to successfully fulfill job duties.Ability to pass required system competency tests.2.Knowledge, skills, abilities, and Experience:Strong customer service skills.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to multitask and work in a mostly self-directed manner.Ability to interact well with co-workers and with all levels and departments throughout the system.Good computer skills; ability to learn and operate new systems.Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.Creative thinking and problem solving skills.Flexibility; willingness to support change, take on new assignments.Proven track record of dependability.Ability to consistently deliver a high level of work accuracy.Experience with lean six sigma methodology for developing and/or optimizing processes and resources is preferred but not required.This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly..
