Seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Transport Specialist with a commitment to transport safety, timely materials delivery, and patient confidentiality. Job Responsibilities Safe and timely transport & delivery of medical materials such as laboratory specimens, medical supplies, and medical equipment to and from healthcare facilities & laboratories. Deliver materials efficiently and punctually according to designated route schedules. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS or maps to ensure timely materials deliveries. Ensure on time pickup and delivery of materials and communicate any delivery delays. Accurately complete delivery documentation including electronic signatures, proof of delivery imagery, pickup/drop-off logs, and any compliance paperwork. Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of State of Georgia (SOG) vehicle. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of DPH. Adhere to all HIPAA policies regarding patient confidentiality and privacy. Maintain temperature control and chain of custody requirements for all deliveries including temperature-sensitive or biohazardous materials. Ensure all material are safely and securely stored in transport vehicle. Avoid personal injury and package damage by lifting packages with proper technique. Adhere to all traffic laws including but not limited to wearing of seat belts, following speed limits, right-of-way rules, and obeying traffic signals. Complete daily pre-trip, post-trip, and safety inspections. Safely operate state vehicle while maintaining fuel efficiency and route optimization. Timely communication of vehicle and travel-related incidents or maintenance issues. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience in transportation and valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle report; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Ground Transp Worker 2 (TRS011) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require two years of experience operating heavy equipment and large vehicles such as bulldozers, frontend loaders, ditchers, road graders, dump trucks, drilling equipment, and heavy-duty trucks. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience transporting medical materials either to or on behalf of healthcare facilities, laboratories, and/or public health governmental organizations. Previous non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) experience. Previous experience overseeing, performing, and/or scheduling routine vehicle maintenance activities. Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to fifty (50) pounds of materials, supplies, and/or equipment as needed. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Certification, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Compliance, United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) compliance.
