JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanic Shop Ball HS intern position assists the Mechanic shop with daily duties such as cleaning, fueling, and inspection of company motor pool. This job encompasses work for all of Moody Gardens including the Attractions, Hotel, and Golf Course. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with and learn the daily activities, duties, and responsibilities as outlined in a timely and consistent manner Assist with and learn the check-out of tools assigned to the maintenance Department, (ie Pumps, Generators etc.) Assist with and learn the set up & use of Dept equipment (Power-washers, pumps, generators) Assist with and learn to attend the fuel pumps and keeping a log of where fuel is used Assist with and learn maintenance MG Golf carts (batteries and tire's etc) Assist with keeping the shop area clean and safe Assist with and learn the logging all repairs and inspections of MG Golf Carts Interact with all operational personnel Participate in company seminars and educational programs Adhere to all company policies and procedures Assist with and learn to properly wash and clean company vehicles, golf carts etc. as well as the cleaning and repair of company bicycles if needed Anything your supervisor deems necessary when a team effort is required Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be enrolled in a Ball High School vocational program with a strong interest in automotive mechanics and be at least 16 years of age.
