Position Overview Under minimal or no supervision, the Assembler III is should display mastery of the trade of assembling component parts for rail communications equipment. Assembler III must act as a mentor and trainer to new assemblers. Reports directly to Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader. What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like The Assembler III will be responsible for the assembly of component parts with the use of assembly prints and Bill of Materials (BOM). Also responsible for: Printed Circuit Board Assembly Focus Read wiring diagrams and retrieve work instructions from computer systems to determine assembly requirements Select electronic components such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits Prepare component leads by twisting, bending, trimming, stripping, or filing using hand tools Insert and press‑fit component leads into printed circuit boards Apply sealers or masking compounds to protect components during the wave soldering process Solder wire leads and joints on the underside of boards to connect components using a soldering iron Install heat sinks, sockets, faceplates, and related accessories using hand tools Mechanical Assembly Focus Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and written work instructions Assemble equipment and products using hand tools and handheld power tools (e.g., screw guns, drill guns) Partner with the Quality team to ensure products meet established standards Train and support lower‑level assemblers as needed Perform wire crimping, stripping, and soldering Follow standard work instructions and schematic drawings accessed through computer systems Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; perform 5S activities Identify and report deviations that may impact safety, quality, or productivity Participate in cell meetings, production meetings, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activities Communicate challenges, improvement ideas, and performance topics to cell leadership Scan in and out of jobs in SAP and utilize visual boards, KPIs, and Kanban tools Support cross‑functional and other production needs as assigned Demonstrate professional conduct and attend required company meetings To Thrive In This Role, You Have High school diploma or equivalent required Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, prints, and applicable industry standards Basic computer skills Strong oral and written communication skills Basic math and problem‑solving skills Proficient use of hand tools, including soldering iron and wick, benders, needle‑nose pliers, flush and semi‑flush cutters, X‑Acto/trace knife, and de‑soldering tools Excellent soldering skills Strong leadership and multitasking abilities We Would Be Impressed If You Had 3+ years of manufacturing experience Based on work cell, may be required to utilize computer, software, and other specialized tools and equipment Previous electronic experience in PCB or Mechanical assembly and/or cable assembly Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-s
