Mechanical Claims Specialist (Automotive) Location: Remote/Hybrid (Training required onsite) Schedule: Full-time, must be flexible (occasional Saturdays required) Position Overview Are you an experienced automotive technician or mechanic ready to step off the shop floor and into a professional office environment? We are seeking a Mechanical Claims Specialist to join our growing customer support team. In this role, you’ll leverage your hands-on mechanical expertise to evaluate automotive warranty claims, guide customers and repair facilities through the claims process, and provide clear, accurate decisions on coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to transition into a less physically demanding role while continuing to use your technical knowledge in a meaningful way. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and process mechanical warranty claims using your automotive knowledge Review repair requests and determine approval, denial, or next steps based on coverage guidelines Communicate with dealerships, repair facilities, and vehicle owners via phone and email Explain claim decisions clearly to customers, ensuring understanding and satisfaction Guide customers through the claims process, including how to obtain repair estimates Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of all claim activity in internal systems Deliver exceptional customer service by actively listening, problem-solving, and showing empathy Collaborate with team members and leadership to maintain consistent, high-quality service Call Types You’ll Handle Dealerships calling to confirm if repairs are covered under warranty Vehicle owners seeking clarification on approved or denied claims Customers needing guidance on next steps for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of automotive mechanic or related experience Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Proven customer service experience with the ability to handle complex or escalated situations Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone presence Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities High school diploma or GED required Preferred Qualifications ASE Certification Experience with claims processing or warranty administration Familiarity with labor guide systems such as AllData or Mitchell Experience using diagnostic scan tools Bilingual (English/Spanish) Work Environment & Requirements Remote or hybrid work environment after training Required 2-week onsite training (travel required) Must have a quiet workspace and reliable high-speed internet Fast-paced call center environment with a mix of phone and email communication What We’re Looking For A mechanic ready to transition into a customer-focused, office-based career A strong communicator who can blend technical knowledge with customer service A self-starter who is reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable Someone who enjoys problem-solving and helping customers navigate complex situations Experience Level Entry to Mid-Level (based on automotive experience) Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
