Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA) Location: San Jose, CA (90%+ Onsite) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Industry: Mission Critical / Data Center Construction Position Overview IntelliPro is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA) to support large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects. This role is responsible for commissioning and validating mechanical systems to ensure reliability, operational readiness, and compliance with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC and cooling infrastructure in data centers, industrial facilities, semiconductor environments, or advanced manufacturing sites. Responsibilities Support mechanical commissioning activities from design review through project turnover Assist with startup, testing, and validation of HVAC and cooling systems Perform functional and integrated systems testing Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and sequences of operation Coordinate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and project teams during installation and startup Conduct field inspections, equipment walkdowns, and punch list tracking Document deficiencies and support issue resolution Maintain commissioning reports, testing records, and turnover documentation Verify systems are fully operational prior to handoff Qualifications 2 to 5 years of experience in commissioning, startup, field engineering, or related mechanical systems work Knowledge of: HVAC systems Chillers CRAH/CRAC units AHUs Mechanical piping systems BAS/BMS controls Experience supporting: Data centers Semiconductor facilities Industrial plants Advanced manufacturing environments Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong troubleshooting, communication, and coordination skills Comfortable working in onsite construction and field environments Preferred Qualifications Experience with commissioning platforms such as CxAlloy, BIM360, or Facility Grid Military, naval, or nuclear mechanical systems background preferred OSHA certifications or commissioning certifications are a plus Work Environment 90%+ onsite project work Approximately 35 to 50 hours per week Travel flexibility preferred Compensation Compensation up to $14,000 per month, including per diem, depending on experience, qualifications, and project requirements.
