Summary We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join a fast-paced engineering team focused on designing cutting-edge custom automation systems and machinery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys turning concepts into real-world equipment, collaborating with engineers and manufacturing teams, and seeing designs come to life from start to finish. Responsibilities Design custom automation equipment, machine components, tooling, and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) Create detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs, assembly documentation, and manufacturing prints Work closely with engineering, controls, manufacturing, and project management teams to develop innovative solutions Modify and improve existing machine designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and system start-ups Ensure designs meet customer specifications, safety standards, and project timelines Support shop floor assembly teams with technical guidance during builds Troubleshoot design issues and implement engineering changes as needed Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, OR equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 2+ years of mechanical design experience in automation, machinery, tooling, or custom equipment Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD platforms Strong understanding of mechanical components such as pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, motors, and structural assemblies Ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into manufacturable designs Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Experience with machine build environments is highly preferred Preferred Experience: Custom automation or special machinery design Weldments, sheet metal, machined parts, and assembly layouts Knowledge of industrial safety standards and ergonomics Exposure to robotics integration or motion systems Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
