Mechanical Drafter

Reports To: Drafting Supervisor/ Engineering Manager Basic Functions: Prepare scale and fabrication drawings for heat exchangers and pressure vessels. Major Duties: Create scale drawings of a complete heat exchanger/pressure vessel and/or its components Prepare fabrication drawings Prepare purchasing sketches for vendors Measure existing components and create AS-BUILT drawings Checks bill of materials for accuracy Qualifications: Education – Associates degree or technical certificate in mechanical drafting. Engineering Technology, or related field experience Knowledge – Autocad 2D is a must Skills – Read and interpret fabrication drawings. Must be consistent in thought processes and work methodology Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be able to read and properly use a tape measure Experience with caliper measurement tool is a plus Working Conditions/Location – Technical office setting and manufacturing shop floor Pearland, TX or Sulphur, LA
