Job Description
HGA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Ruston, Louisiana office location to support the development and execution of mechanical engineering for assigned projects. This position is responsible for assisting with the preparation and review of calculations, design drawings, and engineering documents; collaborating with Designers on 3D graphic modeling; and supporting construction and procurement activities through drawings, material take-offs, and as-built document review. The Mechanical Engineer works closely with project management and multi-discipline teams to ensure accurate, high-quality design deliverables. Key Responsibilities Assist in conceptualizing initial designs and provide guidance to assist leading a team of Engineers and Designer / Draftsmen during preliminary design. Provides/Assists with estimates of engineering manpower effort required for the assigned jobs led and provide accurate manpower planning and tracking data during the duration of the project. Provides/Assists with detail mechanical design of complex facilities and give guidance to lead a team of Engineers and Designers / Draftsmen. Performs/Assists with various design calculations, including, but not limited to: Hydraulic Calculations (Pump Sizing, Line Sizing, etc.), Stress Analysis, Wall Thickness Calculations, & Piping Specifications, & Equipment Sizing. Generates/Assists with equipment specifications and data sheets, prepares inquiry packages, completes technical/commercial bid evaluations, generates purchase requisitions, and reviews vendor drawings / calculations. This would also include procurement for bills of material take-offs such as pipe, fittings, and valves. Perform/Assists with checking of complex facilities. Work with Mechanical Design Lead to maintain project schedule by providing accurate and timely information. <
