This position focuses on the mechanical design, analysis, inspection, and rehabilitation of movable bridge systems, supporting both new design and existing movable bridge assets. The Movable Bridge Mechanical Engineer works as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside structural and electrical, engineers to deliver innovative and reliable movable bridge solutions. Some of the responsibilities this position entails are - Perform mechanical engineering design and analysis for movable bridge systems including bascule, vertical lift and swing bridges. Develop mechanical calculations, operating machinery layouts, and technical reports for new and rehabilitation movable bridge projects Support conceptual, preliminary, and final design phases using current design standards, software, and tools Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, and control systems to ensure fully integrated movable bridge solutions. Assist with preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates Participate in movable and fixed bridge inspection, condition assessment, and load rating activities Support construction activities including shop drawing review, fabrication observation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting Apply sound engineering judgment, industry standards, and HNTB best practices in the evaluation and execution of designs What You'll Do: Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours prov
