Job Description
About Verita AI Verita AI builds high-trust data pipelines that enable AI systems to understand real-world workflows across specialized professional domains. We work with domain experts to teach models how complex technical work actually happens in practice, from routine design tasks to nuanced engineering judgment calls. Brief Description We're hiring Mechanical Engineers with CAD expertise to help train and evaluate AI systems on real-world FreeCAD workflows. You will translate deep mechanical design knowledge into structured tasks and evaluate AI outputs for geometric accuracy, design intent, manufacturability, and standards compliance. What You'll Do Author high-quality, realistic FreeCAD tasks rooted in professional mechanical engineering workflows, including part design, assemblies, 2D drafting, and FEM setup Define clear evaluation criteria and expected outputs so AI-generated CAD work can be assessed for correctness, feature usage, and engineering best practices Review and evaluate AI-generated models and drawings for geometric accuracy, design intent, and manufacturability Provide detailed feedback to improve AI outputs across parametric modeling and technical drawing generation Document design logic, constraint rationale, and standards references clearly Domain Focus Parametric part modeling, constraint-based sketching, and feature tree management Assembly design and component relationships Technical drawing production and GD&T (ASME Y14.5, ISO 128/8015) DFM/DFA principles and manufacturability assessment Mesh generation, FEA setup, and basic simulation workflows Tools & Context You'll work with, or help AI systems reason about, the same tools and artifacts used in professional mechanical design environments, including: FreeCAD (Part Design, Part, Assembly, TechDraw, FEM, Sketcher workbenches) Parametric modeling and constraint-based sketching Technical drawing standards and annotation STEP, IGES, STL, and other standard interchange formats Python scripting and macros within FreeCAD Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline 3+ years of professional CAD experience with working proficiency in FreeCAD (experience with SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360 is a plus if paired with FreeCAD familiarity) Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and real-world manufacturability constraints Ability to write clear, well-scoped CAD tasks with unambiguous geometry and success criteria You May Be a Good Fit If You've designed parts or assemblies that went into production, not just academic exercises You care about clean feature trees, robust parametric relationships, and proper constraint management You're comfortable evaluating whether a design is actually manufacturable, not just geometrically valid You prefer flexible, contract-based engagements over traditional full-time roles How Engagements Work Fully remote, contract-based work Minimum commitment: 10 hours per week Compensation is hourly, aligned with experience and impact, with payments issued through Deel Performance and contribution quality are tracked to support future opportunities
