Mechanical Engineering Tech II Department: Engineering (126) CT Employment Type: Full Time Location: Chester, CT Reporting To: Brian Cigal Description Creates and develops products to enable the fitment of emergency warning equipment to emergency vehicles. In addition to creating new designs, candidate will also be responsible for physically checking that current designs are compatible with next model year vehicles, identifying shortfalls and proposing solutions. Candidate will follow the design process starting with concept initiation and follow it through total product assembly and functionality testing. The process will be facilitated by leveraging the understanding of core concepts in Mechanical Engineering. Candidate engages in continuous learning. Duties and Responsibilities Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports Develops, researches and analyzes design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications Supports manufacturing prototype and pre-production products Prepares various vehicle fit reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information Collaborate with other departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Electrical Engineering and QA to be able to solve problems related to Engineering issues, manufacturing documentation, and/or bills of materials Confers with Engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information Scope Delivers results in accordance with goals and expectations Satisfies internal and external customer needs Assumes responsibilit
