Job Description
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing mechanical designers assigned to our Houston office and managing mechanical engineering projects from conception through execution, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and team members. Key Responsibilities Build mechanical team for the Houston office and manage the Houston mechanical team. Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop and review mechanical designs, specifications, and calculations for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to assess project requirements and develop effective mechanical solutions. Prepare and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, reports, and submittals. Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing solutions as necessary to ensure project success. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering and MEP design. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Licensed mechanical PE 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within an MEP engineering firm. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant engineering tools. Solid understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, IPC, NFPA). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Project management experience and proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) are preferred.
