Mechanical Service Technician Charlotte, North Carolina Jones Networking is recruiting a Mechanical Service Technician to join a leading industrial machinery manufacturer in Charlotte, NC. This hands-on role focuses on servicing, repairing, and maintaining specialized textile and weaving machinery used in advanced manufacturing environments. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering structured, hands-on training. During the training period, candidates will work onsite alongside experienced technicians to learn the equipment, service procedures, and mechanical systems before transitioning into a permanent field service role. Mechanical Service Technician Responsibilities: Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble weaving machine gearboxes and drive components under supervision Replace worn or damaged parts including bearings, seals, shafts, and gears according to technical specifications Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical drive systems following established schedules and procedures Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, exploded parts diagrams, and assembly instructions Use standard and specialized hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and shop equipment safely Document work performed, parts used, and findings in service reports Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop Standards Travel within the United States and Latin America is possible. Support senior mechanics during complex overhauls and machine installations Mechanical Service Technician Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred Basic understanding of mechanical principles (gears, bearings, lubrication, tolerances) Ability to read simple technical drawings or parts diagrams Comfortable working with hand and power tools Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
