Medical Assistant - Gynecology and Pregnancy Care

WHA Midwives seek an experienced medical assistant to join our team! We’re searching for an individual who works at a quick pace and who shares warmth and compassion with patients and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience in a medical office and be familiar with Epic electronic medical record system. Familiarity with prenatal and gynecological care is a plus. A medical assistant in our practice will: Work in both our New Haven and North Branford offices Obtain patient history and ask appropriate health screening questions Obtain and document vitals Chaperone sensitive exams Set up for procedures and assist when necessary Stock rooms, inventory supplies Document accurately in patient’s medical record Process all lab specimens and place standard orders for providers Facilitate the midwives’ timeliness with patient appointment times Assist with answering phones when necessary Share in the highs and lows of pregnant patients’ journey to parenthood The position is for 3-5 days/week with competitive pay rate, paid time off, and select benefits available. There is the potential to learn front office roles once accustomed to our office, and more shifts may become available in the future. Many staff opt to rotate positions.
