Job Description
Overview Central Arkansas Gastroenterology Clinic in partnership with Arkansas Manometry is seeking a part-time (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays) Medical Assistant/Receptionist who is dependable and self-motivated. This dual-role position assists providers with patient care while also managing reception, scheduling, phone calls, and administrative duties to ensure efficient daily clinic operations and excellent patient service. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment. Please Note: This position is for the Central Arkansas Gastroenterology Clinic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet and check patients in and out Answer incoming phone calls and route them to appropriate personnel Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments Verify insurance and update patient demographics Collect copays, balances, and required patient paperwork Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record (EMR) Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Monitor lobby flow and maintain a welcoming patient environment Handle incoming faxes, messages, and general administrative tasks Medical Assistant Duties Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical lists, and medical histories Prepare exam and procedure rooms Assist providers during clinic visits Document patient information accurately in the EMR Provide patient with instructions and education under provider direction Clean and stock exam rooms Clinic Support & Cleaning Duties Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic Participate in shared office cleaning responsibilities Work collaboratively with coworkers to maintain a professional clinic environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Assistant certification required Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred Knowledge of EMR systems preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced working environment Basic computer and phone system skills required Reliable attendance and punctuality required Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour Work Location: In person
