Job Description
We at PET Fusion Imaging are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Front Office Medical Assistant to help within various areas of our department as needed. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Scheduling patient exams Maintaining accurate medical records Chart preparation Point of contact for the PET team regarding patient accounts Discussing/collecting patient payments Conversing with patient about insurance concerns Work closely with billing team to ensure payment of the PET/CT exams With assistance of the Front Office Coordinator, maintain records of the financial documents of patients, including collection forms and ABN’s. Treat patients, family members, health care team members, physicians and other associates with care, courtesy, and respect. Consistently anticipates the needs of customers and puts those needs first. Demonstrates commitment to service and contributes to creating a positive, caring environment. Flexible and able to accept change. Promote teamwork in helping with all aspects of the imaging center. Provide services with respect for human dignity and uniqueness of the patient; unrestricted by consideration of socio-economic status, personal attributes, or the nature of the health problem. Maintain open communication with ISH facilities and billing staff All other duties as assigned Experience and Skills: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Cultural sensitivity and awareness Organized and detail oriented Medical Terminology knowledge High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years experience in medical office, preferred Problem solving Critical Thinking Proficient computer skills Medical Insurance experience Pre-certification experience Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes Interpersonal skills to maintain good working relationships Maintain professional and ethical relationships Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare, preferred EPIC experience, preferred Prolonged sitting CPR certification within one month of employment TB test within one month of employment Must be able to lift 75 pounds; 150 pounds shared lifting Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Experience: Medical office: 5 years (Preferred) radiology: 2 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Fort Wayne, IN 46845 (Required) Work Location: In person
