Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with all coding standards.Review medical records to verify diagnoses, procedures, and services for proper billing using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications.Analyze and assign appropriate medical codes to ensure precise reimbursement and adherence to regulatory guidelines.Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to secure payments.Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payment histories, and correspondence related to medical collections.Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.Stay current with industry updates related to medical coding regulations, insurance policies, and billing best practices.Requirements Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding practices including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classifications, and ICD coding systems.Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms for efficient claim processing and record management.Knowledge of medical records management and the ability to review clinical documentation accurately.Strong skills in medical collection processes to recover outstanding payments effectively.Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical data accurately.Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory.Ability to adapt quickly to evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements.Join us as a Medical Billing Specialist and become an essential part of delivering exceptional healthcare services!
