Job description Accounting / Medical Claims Specialist (Entry–Mid Level) Company: Mi Sueño Speech Therapy, Inc. Industry: Healthcare | Medical Billing | Bookkeeper Work Setting: In-Person Employment Type: Non-Exempt (Hourly) | Part-Time to Full-Time Work Schedule & Expectations Standard schedule shifts: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 9AM-6PM, 10AM-7PM, and Saturday 8AM-5PM Part-time and full-time schedules available Additional hours may be required based on operational needs Overtime must be pre-approved and will be compensated in accordance with California law This is an on-site role ; remote work is not available Position Summary Mi Sueño Speech Therapy, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Accounting / Medical Claims Specialist to support daily financial, payroll, and revenue cycle operations. This role is critical to maintaining accurate billing, timely claims processing, and financial integrity in a high-volume, compliance-focused medical practice. The ideal candidate is highly organized, accountable, and comfortable working in a structured, fast-paced environment with clear deadlines and expectations. Key Responsibilities Process payroll, timesheets, and timecards in coordination with internal procedures Generate and manage daily invoices with required supporting documentation (EOBs, eligibility confirmation) Perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification prior to services Submit daily insurance claims through Office Ally or similar clearinghouse Post patient payments and reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Online Conduct daily Accounts Receivable (AR) reviews and follow up on outstanding balances Review, correct, and resubmit insurance claims as needed Investigate and resolve denials, rejections, and payer discrepancies Maintain accurate, organized financial and billing records Communicate with patients, payers, and internal staff via phone and email Support administrative, billing, and operational tasks as assigned Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (Accounting emphasis preferred) Minimum 1 year experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or medical billing Working knowledge of CPT codes, EOBs, and insurance billing workflows Experience with QuickBooks Online Familiarity with Office Ally or similar clearinghouse systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Core Competencies High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Ability to follow structured processes and maintain consistency Professional communication and problem-solving skills Work Environment & Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use Frequent use of phones and standard office equipment Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Mi Sueño Speech Therapy, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
