Job Description
We are searching for a friendly, compassionate, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face and voice of Pediatrics of Texas. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, excels at multitasking, and possesses a genuine enthusiasm for interacting with children and their families. This crucial role ensures a positive patient experience from the moment they walk through the door.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Check-In/Out: Warmly greet patients and their guardians upon arrival, verify demographic and insurance information, and complete the check-out process efficiently.Schedule Management: Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using our electronic health record (EHR) system, managing the physician's calendars effectively.Communication Hub: Answer multi-line phones with patience and professionalism, directing calls to nurses, physicians, or billing staff as appropriate.Billing & Insurance: Collect co-pays, process payments, and provide basic information regarding insurance verification and billing procedures.Confidentiality: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines regarding patient privacy and the confidentiality of medical records.Office Environment: Ensure the waiting room is clean, safe, and child-friendly. Manage incoming faxes, mail, and general office supplies inventory.Administrative Support: Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks and manage patient forms and documentation accurately.Qualifications and SkillsExperience: Proven experience in a medical office, hospital, or clinical setting is highly preferred. Previous front desk or customer service experience is required.Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or specific pediatric systems) is a major plus.
