Job Title: Medical Historian (Bilingual English/Spanish) - Industrial / Occupational Health Clinic Location: On-Site (Employee Position) Schedule: Part-Time (2-3 Days per Week) Practice Type: Industrial Clinic - Primarily Injured Workers --- Position Overview We are seeking a highly detail-oriented, patient, and disciplined Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Historian to join our industrial health practice serving primarily injured workers.This is an on-site, part-time employee position requiring availability 2-3 days per week.Because a significant portion of our patient population is Spanish-speaking, fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.The Medical Historian must be able to conduct interviews comfortably in Spanish and document the history accurately and professionally in English.The Medical Historian plays a critical role in gathering, organizing, and presenting precise medical histories for patients with work-related injuries.In an occupational health setting, documentation is medico-legal in nature and must reflect the facts exactly as presented.We will provide structured training and a standardized template.After training, the Medical Historian will be expected to complete a minimum of 8 detailed histories per day worked .Core Responsibilities Conduct structured patient interviews in English and Spanish using a standardized template to obtain: Mechanism of injury Timeline and symptom progression Prior medical and injury history Work duties and job description Treatment history Relevant social and functional factors Accurately document patient statements in English without interpretation or embellishment Organize histories in a clear, logical, and medico-legally defensible format Present completed histories directly to the assigned physician for review Request correspondences from injured workers to be brought to their visits - Make revisions as directed to ensure: Factual accuracy Consistency Precise reflection of the patient's account Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Meet productivity standards after training (>= 8 complete histories per day) - Required Qualifications Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) Prior experience as one or more of the following: Medical Historian Medical Scribe Experienced Medical Assistant (with strong documentation background) Excellent written communication skills in English Exceptional attention to detail Demonstrated ability to follow structured documentation templates Strong listening skills and ability to remain neutral and objective Professional demeanor and ability to work directly with physicians/healthcare providers - Ideal Candidate Traits Highly patient and methodical Meticulous with documentation and grammar Comfortable in a structured, fast-paced clinical setting Able to separate subjective statements from objective facts Understands the importance of medico-legal precision in occupational healthcare setting Receptive to feedback and willing to make corrections without defensiveness - Training & Growth Structured onboarding and training provided Clear documentation framework and templates Direct mentorship from healthcare providers Opportunity to develop advanced competency in occupational and industrial medicine documentation - Employment Details Part-time position (2-3 days per week) On-site only (no remote work) Employee of the practice (not contract) Competitive compensation based on experience Professional clinical environment - To Apply Please submit: Resume Brief cover letter explaining your experience with structured medical documentation Confirmation of bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) If you take pride in precision, clarity, and disciplined documentation -- and understand that in occupational health words matter -- we encourage you to apply.Pay:$24.53 - $29.54 per hour Work Location:In person.
