Manage patient scheduling using various EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and or Greenway to optimize clinic workflow.Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team.The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive medical office experience, demonstrating proficiency in medical administrative support, billing, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.This role requires a professional with excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and insurance processes, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently.The Medical Office Administrator will serve as the backbone of our clinic operations, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with healthcare regulations.Duties Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance providers, including Medicare and other payers, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement.Perform medical billing and coding tasks utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding standards to ensure precise documentation for procedures and diagnoses.Review and maintain medical records with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.Handle front desk operations including patient intake, appointment confirmations, multi-line phone system management, and maintaining a welcoming environment.Assist with documentation review for accuracy and completeness while supporting care plan coordination and administrative support for healthcare providers.Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized software or Hospital Information Systems to manage office functions effectively.Provide exceptional patient service through effective phone etiquette, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and filing of medical records.Support office management activities including clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining organized office supplies.Ensure compliance with health information privacy laws (HIPAA) while managing sensitive patient data across various EHR systems.Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting with a strong background in medical administrative support and clinic operations.Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and /or Greenway is essential.Knowledge of medical coding standards including CPT codes, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate billing and documentation review.Experience with medical billing processes involving Medicare claims and insurance verification procedures.Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and patient confidentiality.Excellent communication skills complemented by bilingual abilities preferred (not required) to serve diverse patient populations effectively.Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications along with familiarity with multi-line phone systems and office management software.Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with medical terminology or hospital experience is a plus.Join our team to provide exceptional administrative support that enhances patient care delivery while fostering a professional and efficient clinic environment!
