Job Description
Medical Office Assistant Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collects lab samples, performs venipunctures, and conducts ECGs to support diagnostic procedures Takes and records vital signs, prepares patients for exams, and facilitates clinical procedures to ensure quality patient care Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations Supports reception and check-out areas by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and updating patient records Ensures student immunization compliance by reviewing medical documentation and updating records accordingly Contributes to a collaborative healthcare environment by coordinating with medical staff and optimizing operational efficiency Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of clinical procedures such as venipunctures, ECGs, and vital sign measurements Knowledge of medical recordkeeping practices, confidentiality regulations, and healthcare documentation Skill in collecting lab samples, performing diagnostic procedures, and preparing patients for exams Skill in managing reception tasks, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient insurance information Ability to maintain compliance with student immunization requirements and update records accordingly Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff to enhance patient care and operational efficiency Minimum Education & Experience Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assisting 1 year of relevant experience Job Level Overview Operations, Administrative, Service, or Technical Support Level 2 - An intermediate level role with working foundational knowledge and skills to perform routine and occasionally non-routine tasks. Tasks may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. May provide assistance to entry level staff.
