OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical-Optometric Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within a our optometry clinic.This energetic position offers the opportunity to support both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring smooth operations and positive patient experiences.As a key member of our team, you will utilize your medical knowledge, optical experience, and customer service skills to assist patients from intake through treatment, all while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us provide top-tier eye care services in a welcoming environment.Duties Greet patients warmly, conduct intake procedures, and accurately record medical histories using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Practice Fusion.Prepare examination rooms following aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met.Assist the optometrist during eye exams by handing instruments, managing patient flow, and documenting findings with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.Manage medical records diligently, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while updating patient charts and billing information.Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling retail sales of eyewear products with retail math proficiency.Assist patients with frame selection and lens design.Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control protocols and supporting inventory management of optical supplies.Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry clinics.Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and clinic procedures.Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations including pediatrics.Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and follow aseptic techniques diligently.Experience in retail sales or retail math is a plus for managing eyewear product transactions.Demonstrated professionalism in handling sensitive medical records while complying with HIPAA regulations.Join us in making a difference by providing outstanding eye care support that combines clinical expertise with compassionate service!
