Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure smooth communication between patients and medical staff. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment while supporting efficient clinic workflows. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and phone etiquette. Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes. Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring accuracy in medical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage multi-line phone systems, handle appointment rescheduling, and address patient inquiries promptly. Maintain organized filing of medical records, lab results, and other essential documents using office management software. Support clinic operations by managing patient intake, updating care plans, and coordinating with healthcare providers for efficient workflow. Skills Some knowledge of medical terminology but not require. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry (10 key typing). Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle clerical tasks like filing, faxing, and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effective but not necessay. Prior clinic office experience is highly preferred to ensure familiarity with healthcare workflows. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Strong communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette to provide outstanding patient service.
