Job Description
Skills Needed: This is a Full-time position of approximately 38*40 hours per week. We need an experienced person who is reliable, to work Mon- Thur 8:00am to 5:30pm and Fridays 8:00am to 12:30pm. Medical Secretary/ Receptionist . Responsibilities: Appointment scheduling. Communication Coordination between patients and provider. Communication Coordination between provider and Hospital or ER. Incoming and outgoing Medical Records processing. Monitoring of incoming documents to EMR and appropriate classification of each. Preparation of Medical Letters, Forms and Document preparation of FMLA, Jury Duty, work or school excuses, Medical necessity, DME documents, FL2 forms, etc. Provide patients with Educational Materials and preventative resources. Assist patients as needed with access to Athena Portal. Process incoming patient documents received via USPS. Activate/Deactivate phone night mode as necessary. Set up special messages for when office is closed. (ie. phone system management) Maintain office supplies. Greets patients, family, and guests with friendly demeanor. Update patient demographics as necessary. Processes patients for discharge including printing patient visit summaries, making follow up appointments, and printing patient educational materials as ordered by physician Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with facility standards. Keeps patients and families informed of waiting times. Answer and manage main phone line and phone inquiries – connecting patients to appropriate staff or taking messages as necessary. Participate in education programs and attend meetings as required. Assists with other administrative/office duties as needed Keep front desk and lobby area tidy and presentable with all necessary materials. Cross train for other office functions as needed.
