NOTE: The official job title for this role is Medical Staff Specialist FLSA STATUS: Exempt TYPE OF POSITION: Full-Time Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administrative and operational support of Physician Services, including physicians and allied health professionals. Duties include credentialing, scheduling, Texas Medical License renewal, Out-of-State Medical License oversight, process and maintain professional society membership, professional liability insurance, and track continuing medical education. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our credentialing operations and support our commitment to delivering high-quality pathology services. Responsibilities Coordinate initial and re-credentialing processes for medical providers, including pathologists and other credentialed personnel. Coordinate initial medical license processes and renewal for Pathologists. Collect, review, track, and maintain credentialing documentation, including licensure, board certification, education, training, work history, and other required records Coordinate Pathologist and Pathologist Assistant scheduling, call schedule, weekend call, and vacation lottery management. Monitor credentialing and licensure expiration dates and proactively notify providers and leadership of renewal requirements Maintain organized, secure, and audit-ready credentialing files in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements. Requirements 3-5 Years Proven experience in medical staff credentialing within a healthcare or pathology setting. Experience working in a healthcare, laboratory, or physician practice environment preferred Familiarity with the CME process is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and work independently Effective communication skills to liaise with healthcare providers, licensing agencies, and internal teams. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance standards. Provide administrative support to management and perform all other duties as assigned in support of OCULUS operations. Physical Requirements Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
