Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1years MS RN experience required.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.This opportunity is for a registered nurse with Med-Surg experience to provide specialized care in a trauma and burn mixed acuity unit.The unit consists of both stepdown and medical/surgical patients, focusing on stable trauma cases, post-operative patients from orthopedic and GI/trauma surgeries, as well as stable burn patients.Nurses in this role will manage patient ratios ranging from 1:4-6 in the acute area to 1:3-4 in the stepdown section, ensuring attentive and comprehensive care.Key Qualifications:Active RN licensure with Med-Surg (RN-MS) experience.Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) required.Experience working with trauma and burn patients preferred.Ability to handle mixed acuity patients including stepdown and med/surg.Strong critical thinking and communication skills.Responsibilities:Monitor and assess patient conditions in trauma, burn, and medical/surgical settings.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans.Administer medications, treatments, and post-surgical care according to protocols.Maintain accurate documentation and report changes in patient status promptly.Adhere to unit-specific safety and infection control standards.Location Overview:Situated in Birmingham, AL, this role offers the chance to work in a dynamic hospital environment serving a diverse patient population.Birmingham boasts a rich healthcare community, vibrant culture, and southern hospitality, making it an appealing place to live and work.Additional Details:Job Type:Contract position.Patient ratios:Acute area (1:4-6), Stepdown area (1:3-4).Required Certifications:ACLS and BLS.Flexibility and dedication to quality patient care are essential.Take the next step in your nursing career by applying today to provide critical care in a trauma and burn unit with a focus on patient-centered outcomes.#cjp.
