Details:13 weeks.Medical Surgical unit.Gallup, New Mexico.2 years exp required.Night shift.Every other weekend.36 hrs/week - or you can choose 48 hrs/week instead.Pay range $2520/week to $3360/week.BLS and ACLS required.Flexible start in April.OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Medsurg Registered Nurse on a travel agency contract, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in patient care across diverse settings.This energetic role offers the opportunity to work in fast-paced hospitals, medical-surgical units, and outpatient clinics, providing essential nursing services with a focus on patient-centered care.You will be an integral part of multidisciplinary teams, utilizing your broad skill set to deliver exceptional nursing support and ensure optimal health outcomes.Embrace the adventure of travel nursing while advancing your professional journey in a vibrant, supportive environment.Duties Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to patients with diverse medical conditions, including acute pain management and post-operative recovery Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform venipuncture with precision and adherence to aseptic technique Manage complex cases involving ICU experience, trauma medicine, or Level I trauma center protocols, ensuring rapid response and critical care delivery Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient care and medical records Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory testing, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), sonography, and medical imaging procedures Support discharge planning and patient education for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, or home & community care environments Experience Proven experience in medical-surgical units with a strong foundation in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or Level II/Level I trauma center exposure; trauma medicine knowledge is highly valued Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; Hands-on experience with IV insertion, catheterization (urinary and vascular), sterile processing techniques, and aseptic procedures Background working with specialized populations such as those requiring hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health support, or senior & memory care services Experience in infection control practices and managing infectious disease cases; familiarity with infection control protocols is essential Knowledge of occupational health protocols including Workers' Compensation law and emergency triage procedures in urgent or emergency room settings Ability to perform advanced skills such as ostomy care, gastrostomy tube feeding, spinal tap procedures, or neonatal ventilator management is a plus Strong understanding of physiology knowledge for accurate patient assessment and diagnosis; experience working with children or infants is advantageous Embark on an exciting travel nursing journey where your skills are valued and your professional growth is supported.We seek energetic nurses ready to deliver outstanding patient care across various healthcare environments while exploring new locations.Join us today to make a lasting impact!
