Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic healthcare team. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated LPC/LPCC/LSW/LISW who specializes in trauma therapy, preferably EMDR, to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an independent license and will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to individuals facing various mental health challenges. This role involves working with clients both in-person and virtually, utilizing a range of therapeutic techniques to promote mental well-being and personal growth. This can be a hybrid position, with one in-person evening required. Please visit us at www.jareedcounseling.com Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing the DSM-V-TR. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy, and EMDR. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored treatment plans that address clients’ unique needs, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Provide specialized counseling for issues such as grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Utilize telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health services while ensuring quality patient care through effective communication and clinical research practices. Conduct intake assessments to determine clients' diagnoses and needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Treat both adults and adolescents. Knowledge of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes. Participate in licensure and work supervision. Stay informed about the latest research in mental health practices to enhance service delivery. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Skills Basic knowledge of professional counseling practice with emphasis on human development principles through cognitive, affective, behavioral, or systemic interventions, and strategies that address high-risk behaviors, wellness, and personal growth, across the life span. Knowledge of treatment modalities for children and adolescents. Knowledge and understanding of the APA ethical code. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
