Description Mental Health Specialist – Behavioral Health Call Center We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Specialist to provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and care coordination to individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This role ensures callers receive timely, empathetic, and effective support. Responsibilities Answer crisis helpline and provide support to callers Conduct screenings and risk assessments (e.g., suicide risk, substance use) De-escalate crises and develop safety plans Connect individuals to appropriate services and community resources Make clinical decisions, including dispatching emergency services when needed Provide referrals and follow-up to ensure continuity of care Maintain accurate, confidential records and adhere to HIPAA guidelines Educate and advocate for clients’ needs Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling NYS LMSW or LMHC required 2+ years of experience in behavioral health or crisis intervention Strong clinical, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle high-stress situations professionally Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Knowledge of NYC/Rockland County services and systems of care Familiarity with OMH, OPWDD, and OASAS standards Call center or telehealth experience Pay Rate: $45 per hour Schedule: 3PM-11PM Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday #HCN
