MEDSTAR HEALTH is seeking an experienced MFM Ultrasound Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department within the Healthcare & Medical industry. In this patient-first, high-acuity environment, you will play a key role in caring for individuals and families experiencing high-risk pregnancies, delivering advanced imaging that informs complex maternal-fetal care decisions. As an MFM Ultrasound Technologist, you will perform a full range of obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine ultrasound examinations, including first-trimester and detailed anatomy scans, fetal growth assessments, biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, and targeted evaluations based on physician orders. Using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, you will obtain, optimize, and document high-quality images that support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning by maternal-fetal medicine specialists and obstetricians. You will work in close collaboration with MFM physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the Healthcare & Medical Services team in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include explaining procedures and findings in a clear, respectful manner, helping to alleviate patient anxiety, and providing compassionate care for patients and families navigating complex or high-risk pregnancies. You will consistently apply MedStar Health’s patient-first philosophy, focusing on safety, comfort, and dignity at every stage of the imaging process. The role requires meticulous attention to detail in documenting measurements and observations, entering information into the electronic medical record, and ensuring timely availability of images through PACS and related systems. You will follow established protocols, adhere to ALARA principles, and meet all regulatory, accreditation, and internal quality standards for ultrasound imaging. Infection prevention, patient identification practices, equipment cleaning, and room turnover procedures are integral parts of daily workflow.
