FERNANDINA BEACH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY POSITION TITLE: Middle School English Language Arts Teacher REPORTS TO: Building Principal / Head of School The Fernandina Beach Christian Academy (FBCA), located on Amelia Island in Northwest Florida, is currently accepting resumes for the position of Middle School ELA Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This position is a full-time, salaried and exempt ministry position. Upon administrative review, select candidates will be contacted for scheduling introductory interview. Responsibilities: Teach 6th-8th grade English-Language Arts courses in alignment with designated curriculum and standards. Provide Christ-centered instruction within a Biblical worldview.. Establish a positive, respectful, and structured class environment that promotes student learning. Administer assignments, tests, and projects to assess student understanding and academic growth.. Grade student product and provide constructive feedback to support learning. Keep detailed records of student performance and progress (grades, attendance, behavior, etc…) Communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Uphold the FBCA , mission, and values. Supervise students during assigned duties (e.g., before/after school, lunch, events) as needed. Requirements: A personal, mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Humility, kindness and the ability to correct, rebuke, and encourage in love. Effective classroom management. Ability to keep students engaged in the teaching/learning process. Integration of technology in the teaching process. Desire to promote unity amongst students, parents and colleagues. Quality communication and relational skills with both students and adults. A commitment to work as a productive member of the FBCA educational team. Possess or the ability to obtain Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) certification. Ability to pass required background checks. Active participation in a church in alignment with the FBCA . Job Data: Full-time, salaried, exempt Teacher salaries start at $42,000-$56,000 (Salary dependent on education level & years of service.) Paid Time Off - Observed holidays, Thanksgiving/Christmas/Spring/Summer breaks plus PTO. Ministry Service Dates: August 3, 2026 through May 23, 2027.
