Teach Middle Schoolers at a Moment That Matters Middle school is where identities form, confidence grows, and students begin to see what they're capable of.At Northeast College Prep, we're looking for a Middle School Language Arts Teacher and a Middle School Science Teacher who understand that this stage is pivotal--and who are ready to lead with rigor, structure, warmth, and high expectations.You won't just teach reading/writing or science.You'll help students find their voice, think critically, and build the habits that prepare them for high school and beyond.What You'll Do Teach 7th and 8th grade Language Arts or Science to approximately 70 students (class sizes 20-30).Facilitate Advisory to build community and strong relationships.Provide targeted small-group instruction during daily WIN (What I Need) intervention time.Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic and language needs.Use assessment data to drive instruction and monitor student growth.Implement curriculum with fidelity while keeping lessons engaging and rigorous.Collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit middle school team to create a cohesive student experience.Supervise recess and support shared middle school responsibilities.Communicate regularly and proactively with families.Participate fully in coaching, Professional Learning Communities, and professional development.Attend IEP meetings and partner with specialists to support all learners.What We're Looking For We're not just hiring an ELA or science teacher.We're looking for someone who:Believes deeply that every student--without exception--can achieve at high levels.Understands the unique academic and social-emotional needs of middle schoolers.Thrives in a collaborative environment and contributes positively to a small team.Welcomes coaching, seeks feedback, and consistently works to improve their craft.Is aligned with Responsive Classroom, restorative practices, and intrinsic motivation.Is flexible, solutions-oriented, and ready to do what students need to succeed.Has the presence, consistency, and clarity that middle school students respect and respond to.Qualifications Must-Haves Minnesota Middle Level Language Arts license or Science license (5-8 or 5-12) or eligibility by your start date.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong willingness to engage in regular coaching and professional growth.Commitment to working with students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Nice-to-Haves Experience teaching middle school in urban or charter school settings.Experience supporting English Language Learners.Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Somali.Training in Responsive Classroom and/or Catalyst.Why Teach at NECP?
