Middle School Teachers – Hiring Now (6 - 8) Carter G. Woodson School | Winston-Salem, NC Start Date: August 3, 2026 Carter G. Woodson School is actively seeking experienced, passionate, and highly effective Middle School Teachers (Grades 6–8) who are committed to academic excellence, rigorous instruction, scholar growth, and culturally responsive teaching practices. We are dedicated to developing scholars through high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and a whole-child support approach. Position Overview Middle School Teachers will deliver rigorous, engaging, standards-based instruction while supporting scholars through effective classroom management, academic growth, positive behavior development, and foundational college and career readiness skills. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality instruction aligned to state standards Use data to drive instruction and student growth Create a positive, structured classroom culture Differentiate instruction for diverse learners Collaborate with grade-level and instructional teams Communicate regularly with families Support school-wide initiatives and student success programs Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field Valid North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure) Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience (preferred/required, based on your hiring standard) Experienced in middle school grades preferred Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills Demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and culturally responsive teaching practices Ability to analyze data and use it to drive instructional decisions Strong collaboration, communication, and team engagement skills Why Join CGW?
