Geotemps, Inc.is recruiting for a Mill laborer for a surface and underground gold mining operation.The Mill Laborer reports to the Mill Supervisor, and the primary role is to perform heavy physical tasks as directed such as snow/ice removal, building, grounds & processing plant maintenance and providing general assistance to Mill Operators within the Processing Operations Department.Roles and Responsibilities Safety Requirements Display a clear commitment to safety & health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.Operate in accordance with and comply with the Company's Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes.Active participation in all communication and awareness systems.Environmental Requirements Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.Operate in accordance with the Company's Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimizes damage to the natural environment.Minimizes waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.Stakeholder Requirements Operate in accordance with Company's Stakeholder Policy.Specific Departmental Requirements Snow and ice removal Safely operate light vehicles and plant (eg, skidsteer, bobcat, forklift) Maintain clean conveyor areas Clean out sumps General cleaning around mill operations Assist Mill Operators & Maintenance personnel as directed Use hand tools safely Ensure all safety related activities are undertaken in accordance with Company policy and MSHA requirements including Hazard IDs, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting.Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas.Other duties as required Qualifications Current Driver's License.Desired Experience & Competencies Experience operating small equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts.Capable of heavy physical labor, including shovelling for up to 8 hrs per day.Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, from floor to chest without injury.Basic Computer literacy.Good communication skills.Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act & Regulations.Be able to pass a background check, drug screenings and physical test.Physical Demands Constant standing Constant repetitive, sustained & forceful hand, elbow / wrist movement Frequent lift 45lb - floor to waist Frequent lift 20lb - waist to shoulder Frequent carry 50lb Frequent pushing/pulling Frequent walking Frequent forward trunk flexion Frequent kneeling/squatting/crawling Frequent stair/ladder climbing Frequent forward & overhead reaching Frequent sustained neck movement Occasional lift 50lb - waist to shoulder Occasional carry 90lb Occasional repetitive trunk rotation Rare lift 90lb - floor to waist Schedule:12 hours per shift Rotation:2 weeks on 1 week off Pay rate:$24 per hr..
