Job Title: Camp Operations Director Reports to: Camp Owner Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Camp Operations Director to lead daily functions and supervise the safety and care of our Campers (dogs). This role oversees day camp, enrichment activities, overnight lodging, and grooming services. Administrative responsibilities include coordinating pet policies, managing a team of 15, training staff in low-arousal handling, enhance our behavioral assessments. The camp director will also utilize in-house software and social media to market our unique business. Leadership & Team Development Support company mission and pet care standards. Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for a team of 15. Provide mentorship and coaching to ensure professional growth and a positive work environment. Maintain effective communication between shifts and ensure consistent animal care. Foster an "open-door" policy for staff to share ideas and resolve issues. Scheduling & Operations Manage weekly staff schedules for up to 85 Campers while controlling labor costs. Ensure the facility opens and closes smoothly. Oversee compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend policy updates for safety and effectiveness. Oversee that the team adheres to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Campers in our care regarding feeding, medication administration, and day camp play. Maintenance: Maintain MRDC property and coordinate necessary repairs with maintenance. -Storm Preparedness: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall -Coordinate sanitation routines with the amazing team that cares for our yards. Client Communication & Behavioral Management Conduct and maintain consistent pet behavioral assessments. Address behavioral concerns with owners, providing management options or dismissing pets if necessary. Lead facility tours and communicate policies and service quality to potential clients. Exceed pet parent expectations and resolve concerns promptly. Revenue Growth: -Identify growth add on opportunities such as one-on one enrichment, grooming, bathing, nail trims mini grooms. -Goal setting and tracking Training & Compliance Lead staff enrichment training on low-arousal management and behavioral handling, following up with team assessments. Monitor dog incident reports and troubleshoot issues related to feeding, elimination, or stress. Ensure all cleaning and care is documented accurately. Maintain the OSHA training manual and ensure facility compliance. Administrative Duties Develop forms to streamline communication and camp processes. Maintain our website and social media keeping details and communication to clients current Document and handle all pet- or staff-related incidents. Team Scheduling and Review and review staff timesheets. Coordinate with all areas of camp to ensure proper coverage Attend weekly meetings with the Camp Owner to review progress and financials. Working conditions -May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, animal feces, vomiting, and some scratches (to be avoided, if possible, with proper clothing). Qualifications Experience: 3+ years in a leadership role within a pet resort, veterinary clinic, animal behavior, or high-volume animal care facility A deep understanding of dog behavior, breed temperaments, and group settings. Tech Savvy: Proficient in Pet Software and communication tools like Homebase, Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long shifts and handle dogs of all sizes. Work requires the ability to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects' boxes; good limb agility is a must. Tasks require some bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
