A company is looking for a Mortgage Underwriter to join their team remotely. Key Responsibilities Evaluate borrower profiles and ensure loan files meet company, investor, and regulatory standards Reconcile loan terms and execute final checks before issuing approval decisions Collaborate with Loan Originators, Processors, and other teams to resolve issues and mitigate risk Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in residential mortgage underwriting, particularly with FHA and VA loans Hands-on experience with Encompass and automated underwriting systems like Fannie Mae DU and Freddie Mac LP Deep understanding of federal and state mortgage requirements and Mortgage Insurance guidelines Comprehensive knowledge of the entire lending lifecycle, from processing to post-closing Preferred Certifications: DE, VA SAR, VA LAPP, or USDA Certifications are highly valued
