DESCRIPTION Working under general supervision, the MRI Tech performs routine to complex magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic purposes in accordance with established guidelines and MRI protocols. Requires advanced knowledge of radiologic technology and magnetic resonance imaging. Acts as an MRI subject matter expert and assists other technicians as needed. Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established MRI protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Follows protocols specified by the Radiologist. Administers contrast media per protocol. Educates patient, collects patient history, communicates patient information to the Radiologist, and prepares patient for procedure. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure technical quality and image quality. Troubleshoots and resolves MRI-related PACS issues. Depending on experience, license and certifications of the selected candidate, this position will be hired as an MRI Tech or Sr MRI Tech level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of a school of radiologic technology or MRI Technology program. Registered Technologist for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) issued by ARRT or ARMRIT. Venipuncture certification within six (6) months of hire date. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Recent experience in a similar role and setting or new graduate of an approved MRI technology program. Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Proven knowledge of radiological computerized systems and applications. Thorough understanding of various radiological systems to include PACS and RIS. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Six (6) months of recent relevant experience. Previous hospital experience. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Floating may be required based on the needs of the department. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $118,724 - $147,705 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $56.86 - $70.74 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
