Job SummaryJoin our vibrant team as a Native Plant Nursery Assistant and immerse yourself in the rewarding world of native plant propagation and sales.In this role, you will support the propagation of native plants, manage our outdoor nursery and sales areas, and interact with clients to inform them of plants suited to their needs.Your enthusiasm for horticulture will help us nurture relationships with our clients while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic nursery environment.This full-time, seasonal position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in horticulture while contributing to Audubon's initiatives.Responsibilities Assist with propagation of native plants to help reach and maintain inventory goals Work with and assist volunteers during weekly propagation workdays Manage sales inventory by stocking and arranging plants in the sales area Manage online availability based on sales area inventory Work with clients to help identify species that may be best suited to their growing conditions or landscape goals Opportunity to assist with or lead impromptu educational programming at the sales area Qualifications Growing experience or background in horticulture, gardening, or farming is preferred Experience in a nursery setting is preferred but not required Ability to identify native plants and basic plant identification skills is preferred Understanding of native plants versus cultivated and/or invasive species is preferred Strong physical stamina for outdoor work including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking is necessary Experience working in a retail environment where customer service skills are required is preferable Enthusiasm for environmental conservation, outdoor work, and supporting ecological restoration projects We're committed to fostering a supportive environment that values your contributions while helping you develop essential skills in horticulture and environmental stewardship.Pay:$17.50 - $18.50 per hour Expected hours:40.0 per week Benefits:Employee discount Application Question(s):Are you able to commit to a Sunday through Thursday, or a Tuesday through Saturday schedule?
