Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver, where your role is vital in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for individuals with medical needs. As an NEMT Driver, you will operate specialized vehicles to transport passengers to and from medical appointments, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times. Responsibilities Safely operate stretcher vans, transport clients to medical appointments, hospital discharges, or other destinations. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, providing courteous and respectful customer service throughout each trip. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations. Manage scheduling and routing efficiently to adhere to appointment times while optimizing travel routes. Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and healthcare providers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs smoothly. Handle heavy lifting stretchers or wheelchairs for securing mobility devices or assisting passengers with special needs. Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with company policies. Qualifications Proven experience in driving, delivery driving, van/stretcher driving. Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., driver’s license or driver certification). Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members. Knowledge of operations and safety protocols for transporting individuals with mobility challenges. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment. Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to identify issues early and ensure vehicle safety standards are met. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
