US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoW intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. Responsibilities: Strategy & Planning Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes. Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues. Acquisition & Deployment Designs and defines network architecture for new or existing computer systems Performs complex network development and design work. Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of network enhancements. Provides input for documentation on new or existing networks. Develops and conducts tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements. Operational Management Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network problems. Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance. Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. May provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced systems engineers. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Comprehensive knowledge of network engineering principles, methods, and techniques. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment. Knowledge of Data Center and Virtualization Knowledge of Automation techniques and structure Participates in special projects as assigned. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Collaborate with senior management and other teams to understand business objectives and develop network strategies that align with organizational goals. Lead and delegate troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident response. Set clear expectations and performance goals for the network team, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices. Act as a point of escalation for technical challenges or critical incidents, ensuring prompt and effective resolution. Qualifications Required Qualifications: 5+ years of related Network Engineering experience. Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance BA/BS degree Must possess a completed CCNA certification. Must meet DOW 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.
