The Incumbent performs technical duties in support of enterprise-level data and communications network, server, storage and radio systems. Responsibilities include: capacity planning of network and server resources; design, implementation and administration of enterprise-level network, server, storage and radio systems; and implementation of effective security measures for County systems, including intrusion prevention and detection.Please Note: The current vacancy exists in the Information Technology Services Department. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Please click here to review the Samples of Duties SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION OPTION 1: Experience: Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience designing, building, maintaining or administering enterprise-level data or communications networks or enterprise-level server systems.Substitution: Possession of a valid associate's level certification from CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco in networking, server administration, virtualization, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. OR Possession of a valid professional or expert level certification from CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware in networking, server administration, virtualization, or a closely related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience. OPTION 2: Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field.OPTION 3: Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience as an Information Technology Specialist with the County of Fresno. In addition to the options listed above, the following is also required: License: Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.Other: As a condition of employment, candidates may be required to undergo and pass a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination.
