Job Description
Experienced Neurosurgical ICU APP (APN acute care certified or Physician Assistant) Per Diem Nights assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards. Inpatient with rotating weekends. Experienced Neurosurgery APP required for per diem night coverage. The Neurosurgery Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Riverview Medical Center and Ocean University Medical Center offers the newest treatment options, services and medications for a variety of neurological conditions. Our neurology and neurosurgery care consistently ranks among the best in the state. Jersey Shore University Medical Center is one of 3 locations at Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute that offers focused ultrasound (FUS), a minimally invasive treatment for patients with essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease tremor that has not responded to medications. Our Center for Treatment of Paralysis and Reconstructive Nerve Surgery uses the most advanced treatment options to help restore function in patients who have suffered from stroke, neuropathy, brachial plexus injuries, diaphragm paralysis and other conditions. Jersey Shore University Medical Center will be the only medical center in the northeast to offer ZAP-X®, a radiosurgery, with Synaptive MRI technology. This revolutionary technology treats brain tumors, facial pain and Arteriovenous Malformations or AVMs (irregular connections between arteries and veins) within days and requires no incision and no anesthesia. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Physician Assistant License. National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
