This vacancy is also eligible for the following Employee Benefits: 401(k) Retirement Plan with up to a 5% employer match NAF Pension Plan, employee contribution only 1% (May be eligible to buy back military service time) Medical and dental insurance Inexpensive life insurance covers up to 3x your annual salary Flexible Spending Accounts (Health and Dependent Care) Health Savings Account Short Term Disability Insurance up to 60% of your salary Federal Long Term Care Up to $3,000 a year for Tuition Assistance up to graduate level Leave Donation Program for life's emergencies Immediate Annual and sick leave accrual Major Duties Primary Duites of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) New Parent Support Program (NPSP) Home Visitor will be to: Perform support services via home visits and classroom settings designed to provide psychological and educational support to parents of children ages zero to five to include education in: positive parenting skills, promoting healthy pregnancy, promoting positive parent-child attachment behaviors, recognizing newborn infant cues/behaviors, and promoting effective couple communication in order to promote healthy relationships and prevent family violence. Provide information and education on services and resources available. Refer parents to appropriate military and civilian agencies for assistance and support for: assessment of at-risk behaviors, enhancing the parents role in parenting a newborn/child, role modeling and mentoring, and any medical concerns. Plan, develop, and implement programming designed to build and enhance strengths that individuals and families bring to the parenting role to enhance parent-child attachment. Develop and deliver parent education programs to foster skill development, aid in child abuse prevention, and promote good overall mental health. Conduct standardized screenings and assessments of families receiving services and collaborates with related agencies to offer appropriate and necessary services. Provide early intervention services to parents and families at-risk. Conduct ongoing risk assessment. Reports suspected abuse as required by policy and law. Collaborate with the family and appropriate agencies to develop methods to achieve prescribed goals and enhance successful parenting. Consult with local hospital professionals regarding aspects of abuse and identification of at-risk individuals and families. Attends and participates in the clinical case staff meeting as requested. Establish and maintain professional contacts to stay abreast of: research, education, training and clinical practice to enhance and maintain the NPSP. Maintain individual case records in accordance with prescribed regulations and ensures confidentiality and security of case information. Handle sensitive information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure. Safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized reading, printing, retaining, copying or dissemination of information, messages, or correspondence in accordance with rules and regulations such as those covered by the Privacy Act, 5 USC 552(a), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Public Law 104-191, and Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 6025.18. Notify the higher level supervisor and senders immediately when proprietary information has been released and advise on how to properly recover, and/or protect information. Major Duties Market the NPSP through a variety of venues including but not limited to: articles in the installation newspaper, orientation briefings, trainings, creating brochures to provide information on the NPSP, and participation in special events such as Child Abuse Prevention Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
